Lose Baby Weight – Patients
Maternity clothes are cute and comfortable when you are pregnant. After childbirth, we want to put them away as soon as possible! Yet, most new moms must continue to wear big belly elastics or “soft linen” for a few extra days or weeks. When and how to find your favourite jeans? After delivery, it takes about 6 weeks before the size of your uterus and blood volume return to normal. Do not go against nature by wanting to precipitate in extreme weight loss so to lose baby weight fast. Dieting too soon after delivery would hurt your milk production and make you even more tired. Keep your energy for more important things. Losing 27 kg in 6 months like Jessica Simpson or Kim Kardashian may be tempting for some, but it’s far from being a model to follow!
Breastfeeding & Weight Loss
It is possible that you lose the remaining pounds in a few weeks, without doing any “diet.” The majority of new moms do this without any special effort in a few months or a year, including moms who do not breastfeed. If you are breastfeeding, it will probably be easier. First, because breastfeeding makes you spend a lot of energy (calories). Secondly, when you breastfeed, your uterus contracts, which helps your belly regain its shape.
On the one hand, breastfeeding can help you lose baby weight after pregnancy because of the energy expenditure it represents. On the other hand, breastfeeding will whet your appetite like never before in your life! How is it possible to balance one’s diet when one is always hungry? Take 3 meals a day and 3 snacks if you feel hungry. During the first months a friend was breastfeeding, she always had fruits washed or cut in the refrigerator. While her baby swallowed greedily his first drink of the day, she calmed her hunger until she could have lunch in her turn.
